Please note that the Bachelor of General Studies degree requires completion of the requirements of a single BGS major AND a secondary field of academic study (a second major, co-major, or minor).  This sample plan is based on the completion of a minor. If a second major is selected instead, elective hours on plan will be needed for these additional major requirements.

2

The Classical Languages major requires 15 hours of advanced language study beyond GRK 108 and LAT 108, beginning with LAT 112 or GRK 301

3

Choose from the list of approved Classical History courses found on the degree requirements tab.

4

Choose from the list of approved Ancient Art & Archaeology courses found on the degree requirements tab.

5

Goal 6 satisfied by CLSX 496, CLSX 550, or CLSX 577. If one of these is not used to satisfy a major requirement and Goal 6, then a free elective may also be used to satisfy Goal 6.

6

Two courses (6 hours) of additional electives are required for the Classical Languages major. See the degree requirements tab for a list of approved elective courses.

Please note:

All students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are required to completed 120 total hours of which 45 hours must be at the Jr/Sr (300+) level.

The same course cannot be used to fulfill more than one KU Core Goal. However, overlap of a KU Core course with a major or degree-specific requirement is allowed. Overlapping is recommended to allow more opportunities to explore other majors and/or minors.
