1

MATH 101 or higher recommended as some elective options have a MATH pre-requisite.

2

Please note that the Bachelor of General Studies degree requires completion of the requirements of a single BGS major AND a secondary field of academic study (a second major, co-major, or minor).  This sample plan is based on the completion of a minor. If a second major is selected instead, elective hours on plan will be needed for these additional major requirements.

3

Geography majors must complete five courses (15 hours) at the 200-500 level, from at least 3 of the following 4 groups: Regional Studies, Physical Studies, Geographic Information Science, Human Studies.

*

All major required Geography courses and most Geography elective courses numbered 300 and above are offered once a year, either in the fall, spring or summer term.

Please note:

All students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences are required to completed 120 total hours of which 45 hours must be at the Jr/Sr (300+) level, and 100 hours must be from within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

The same course cannot be used to fulfill more than one KU Core Goal. However, overlap of a KU Core course with a major or degree-specific requirement is allowed. Overlapping is recommended to allow more opportunities to explore other majors and/or minors.
