ABSC 746. Introduction to Behavioral Science. 3 Hours.

This introductory course promotes knowledge and skill in analyzing behavioral problems across a range of societal issues. Special consideration is given to designing interventions, implementing, managing, and supervising applied projects. Topics include the identification and selection of problems and target populations, analysis of problems and goals, designing measurement systems, developing interventions, and disseminating products from applied behavioral research. The Department of Applied Behavioral Science offers a curriculum through which students learn how to examine and address problems of social importance across the lifespan. Students receive training in the application of behavioral science to improve the human condition through prevention and intervention. The department’s doctoral program in behavioral psychology satisfies coursework requirements for Board Certification in Behavior Analysis and, in most states, licensure as a behavior analyst. It does not satisfy requirements for licensure in psychology.
