The course explores how language is represented and processed in the human brain. This includes a critical survey of the foundations and the current research in the cognitive neuroscience of language, focusing on the techniques of functional brain imaging (fMRI, PET, EEG. MEG, and related methods), and research on aphasia and other language disorders. This course also includes a component providing laboratory experience with brain imaging research on language. Prerequisite: An introductory course in Linguistics. LEC.
