MATH 782.  Numerical Analysis II.  3 Credits.     

Direct and interactive methods for solving systems of linear equations. Numerical solution of partial differential equations. Numerical determination of eigenvectors and eigenvalues. Solution of nonlinear equations. (Same as EECS 782.) Prerequisite: EECS 781 or MATH 781.

The degree of Bachelor of Science in Mathematics offers more extensive training in mathematics and its applications than is possible in the B.A. curriculum. The degree of Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics offers in depth training in mathematics. A total of 120 hours is required to graduate with a B.A. in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
