The Undergraduate Certificate in Leadership Studies is an undergraduate experiential learning certificate designed to intentionally connect the skills and knowledge gained in the classroom with activities and experiences occurring outside of the classroom. Experiential learning certificates require students to thoughtfully and continually contemplate their learning through a reflective process. Completion of the certificate will be noted on the KU transcript. This certificate is open to degree-seeking undergraduate students. Register for this certificate at elcerts.ku.edu.

- One (1) three-credit, upper division LDST course (300-level or higher)
- One leadership-focused elective in student’s major or area of interest
Experience (50 hours):
- Students complete 50 hours of on-campus and/or off-campus leadership activities. Students can complete their leadership experience through a variety of KU student organizations, student government, campus events, and/or community organizations. Students will submit a leadership experience hours verification form approved and signed by their faculty/staff supervisor.
Reflection (500 words):
- Students complete a final reflection that synthesizes their leadership learning and experience.
