Minor in Discovery and Innovation in Biotechnology
Grounded in biological sciences, (genetics, microbiology, molecular biology, and pharmacology) this minor focuses on providing comprehensive educational experiences in aspects of research and discovery relevant to animal and human health. Requirements for the minor include biological topics related to human and animal health, such as applied quantitative analysis, separation science, and bioinformatics. This minor also prepares students for follow-on graduate programing or careers in the bioscience industry that demand well-developed skills in research and discovery, skills such as research study design and execution, translational research via industry or academic internships, and bioscience regulations.
Course work for this minor is predominantly delivered at the Edwards Campus in Overland Park, KS.
To declare a Minor in Discovery and Innovation in Biotechnology a student must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative KU GPA and be degree seeking.
