Minor in Project Management

The Minor in Project Management provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to gain valuable knowledge to properly manage projects, from small-scale initiatives to multi-year endeavors. This minor requires the completion of 18 credit hours from the undergraduate project management curriculum, which incorporates theory and practice to solve real-world problems across various fields. 

A Minor in Project Management complements a wide variety of majors by adding practical, in-demand skills that enhance your readiness for the workforce and can significantly boost your career prospects after completing your bachelor’s degree. According to the Project Management Institute (PMI), project management is a growing profession, with nearly 2.2 million new jobs expected globally each year through 2027. Organizations worldwide are increasingly adopting project management due to globalization, evolving technology, and rapid growth of automation, emphasizing project-based planning, development, and operations to gain a competitive edge. 

The Minor in Project Management provides KU students with the opportunity to learn the project management skills needed to manage projects in their chosen discipline. 

Courses for the minor can be completed in-person at the Lawrence campus or fully online, providing flexibility for traditional students, working professionals, and remote learners. 

To declare a Minor in Project Management a student must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative KU GPA (or be in their first semester) and be degree seeking.
