Minor in Pre-Health Professions

The Minor in Pre-Health Professions is grounded in biological sciences, (genetics, microbiology, cell biology and biochemistry) and focuses on providing the required and recommended coursework for medical, dental, physician associate, and pharmacy schools as well as other health related professions and professional schools. Electives for the minor include biological topics related to human health, such as neurobiology and physiology. This minor also includes coursework and student support for standardized test preparation (MCAT), shadowing hours, interviewing, and personal statement preparation. Students taking this minor may continue on to become medical practitioners and health care providers after earning an advanced degree in the specialized area.

Course work for this minor is predominantly delivered at the Edwards Campus in Overland Park, KS. 

This minor is available to all degree seeking students and is also one of 3 minors in the Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology. To declare a Minor in Pre-Health Professions a student must have a minimum 2.0 cumulative KU GPA and be degree seeking.
